Your library lives on your iPhone, encrypted at rest and excluded from device backups. Our processing server holds photos in memory and keeps no image copies.
Combining does send your two photos to the enabled AI providers. Their retention rules are separate from your on-device library.
Who sees them, and for how long?
The app names every enabled provider and its current terms before you consent. Our current disclosures include Google’s abuse-monitoring retention of up to 55 days and OpenAI’s of up to 30 days.
fal’s written route-specific retention and no-training confirmations remain pending. That unresolved risk is disclosed for the limited friends-and-family beta. We do not claim zero retention.

Only adults who are the parent or legal guardian of every child in their photos may use Baby Bothie. You choose whether to consent before photos are processed.
You can remove pictures, manage usage analytics, or delete your account in the app. Copies you save to Apple Photos remain under your Apple settings.
Is this an exact photograph?
It starts with two photos you actually took. AI combines them; the result is not an unedited photograph and can change details. The originals stay available, and combined images are disclosed as AI-assisted.

I'm a software engineer in Ontario, Canada, and I build Baby Bothie myself: the iOS app, the backend, the AI-provider integrations, the privacy architecture, and every release. There is no outside agency and no outsourced team.
Baby Bothie started with a friend's interviews of new parents about the photos they keep. The same line came up every time: "Mom is never in the picture." I'm building this so the parent holding the camera ends up in the memory too — with a privacy design I'd accept for my own family.
